Oliver Tree, the unclassifiable internet phenomenon, comes to Budapest for the first time.

Oliver Tree is a singer, producer, songwriter, director, and performance artist who operates on the boundary between pop and alternative music, while the accompanying visuals sit at the intersection of artistic creation and entertainment. His imagination and music know no bounds, as proven by his latest album, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly. During its creation, Tree not only explored different genres, but also recorded across 82 countries. Now he can add another stop to his “country bingo”: on July 12, he will present his new album at Dürer Kert in Budapest.

Hailing from Santa Cruz, California, Tree has become known as a multifaceted artist through his many projects and eras over the past decade. As unpredictable as an artist can be, it is nearly impossible to anticipate his next move. He is unafraid to make audiences laugh, cry, reflect deeply, or even feel completely bewildered within the span of a four-minute music video, while forging his own path by rethinking how pop culture is presented and marketed in the age of the internet. In Oliver Tree’s world, there are no boxes: he has created a multimedia project that challenges what we consider art, all while remaining entirely unconcerned with public opinion.
His art has no limits, and this is demonstrated - on multiple levels - by his latest album, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly. The 17-track record is Tree’s most ambitious and comprehensive work to date, entirely written and produced by him.
Spanning a wide spectrum of sound and emotion, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly includes previously released tracks such as “Superhero,” “Joyride,” “Flowers,” “Deep End,” and “All You Ever Wanted,” each showcasing a different facet of Tree’s genre-blending musical universe.

Love You Madly, Hate You Badly is the result of an unprecedented global journey. Over the past two years, Tree recorded the album across seven continents and 82 countries, from Africa to China to Afghanistan. These experiences are deeply embedded in the record: diverse instruments, sounds, and cultural influences all contribute to an adventurous yet personal sonic landscape. The album stands as proof of boundless creative exploration.
Alongside the album, Tree is also producing a feature-length documentary that captures the creative process in Antarctica, offering insight into one of the most unusual recording journeys in recent memory.

With his globally recognized persona and his masterful fusion of satire, performance art, and music, Oliver Tree continues to challenge audience expectations at every turn. His work is inspired by the absurd, Andy Kaufman-style “meta-humor,” while also examining modern culture’s fixation on fame and digital identity - creating a multimedia experience that goes far beyond music. His live shows likewise transcend the boundaries of a traditional concert, and now Budapest audiences can experience it firsthand at his first Hungarian performance on July 12 at Dürer Kert.
