ELLiS·D, the solo project of Ellis Dickson, is coming to Hungary for the very first time on September 23 for a genre-blending, explosive live show at Dürer Kert.

Originally stepping into the spotlight as a drummer-turned-frontman, Ellis Dickson has steadily built momentum around ELLiS·D over the past year. Thanks to relentless touring and electrifying live performances, the project has quickly become one of the most exciting emerging acts around — with Far Out Magazine recently describing the show as “one of the most thrilling live experiences of recent months.”

Performing alongside a constantly evolving collective of Brighton-based musicians, Dickson — while also drumming internationally for Fat Dog and Johnny Borrell’s Jealous Nostril project — has toured with acts such as Razorlight and shared stages with The Goa Express, Flip Top Head, Melts, Plantoid, Vinyl Williams, Youth Sector and The DSM IV, among others.
The 2023 EP Hullo, Reality and the singles that followed, released via Brighton’s Crafting Room Recordings, earned Dickson significant radio play and press attention. His music has regularly appeared on BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio X, while major UK music outlets including NME and So Young Magazine have also championed the project.

Over the past two years, ELLiS·D has been longlisted for both the Green Man Rising and Glastonbury Emerging Talent competitions, while this year’s biggest festival appearance came at Kendal Calling on Tim Burgess’s curated stage. The act has also made strong impressions at events such as Soundcity, The Great Escape and Live at Leeds, as well as at European festivals including Best Kept Secret and Haldern Pop.

Musically, ELLiS·D blends glam punk, psychedelia and gothic atmospheres into a distinctive sonic world: live shows packed with breakneck riffs, unexpected turns and cathartic returns. The second EP, Spill — written and performed entirely by Dickson with producer Shuta Shinoda — further amplifies this intense and immersive sound. The closing track, Drifting, is a dark, glam-punk-fuelled journey steeped in 21st-century paranoia.

MÖRK plays music rooted in soul and funk, offering listeners a unique musical experience through thought-provoking lyrics on social, psychological, and everyday themes, combined with improvisation and elements of other styles. The band’s album Still Dreamin’, released last year, was put out by the British label Albert’s Favourites. The sold-out album release concert on the A38 Ship also marked the end of MÖRK’s active career—the band subsequently went on hiatus and, with the exception of one or two special events each year, no longer performs live. One such occasion will take place on November 14 in the main hall of Dürer Kert, where they will once again perform songs from the album *You Are Free To Choose*, which turns 10 this year, and have many other surprises in store.

The concert is supported by the Performing Arts College of the National Cultural Fund (NKA).

To mark this special occasion, the band will play the album from start to finish, complemented by numerous popular and rarely heard hits from Kapuzárási Piknik and Legszebb éveink.

In the endless summer of 2016, Galaxisok began recording their third album, whilst life went on around them and the neon-lit nights faded into the distance. Following Benedek Szabó’s quasi-solo albums, this was the band’s first true, collaborative album, which they rehearsed in the Dürer rehearsal rooms - a place that has since become the stuff of legend - before recording the album in various rented flats with the help of sound engineer Dodi Lázár. Since its release in 2017, it has remained a true audience favourite and will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year. To mark this special occasion, the band will play the album from start to finish, complemented by numerous popular and rarely heard hits from _Kapuzárási Piknik_ and _Legszebb éveink_. What’s more, the tenth anniversary brings a real treat: _Focipályákon sétálsz át éjszaka_ is finally being released on vinyl.

The result is a collection of songs that paint a comprehensive picture of this way of life, and this will be even more evident in a live setting. On 15 October, on the stage at Dürer Kert, we’ll show everyone what’s going on inside us, as well as where our shared musical journey began.

Zuhanó Hónapok are a band from Budapest who dream of midwest emo but play more of an alter-emo style. The members are all linked by Eötvös József Grammar School, where they first met, but the band couldn’t form until after they’d finished school. Their music is characterised by the unconventional use of odd time signatures, the sudden insertion of blast beats in the most laid-back passages, the grotesque harmony of screaming and clean vocals, bass riffs, melancholy - that sort of thing.

We come from the counties of Nógrád, Komárom-Esztergom and Győr-Moson-Sopron; our professions include: teacher, architect, accountant and potter. Five girls, five instruments, plus whoever can sing.

We’re an eight-piece band from Budapest, operating on the fringes of Hungarian alternative rock, folk and a lyrical, ballad-like sound. Our songs blend folk motifs with an energetic, modern sound, so our gigs evoke both contemplative, introspective moments and a liberated, sweeping momentum. The band Varacskos Diszkó will reveal a new, more sensitive side to the audience on 22 October at Dürer Kert. On their new EP, the band presents, with emotional reverence, both the lows and the highs experienced in a young relationship.

Let’s meet in the small hall at Dürer on 22 October for the launch of our album *Sad and in Love*!

The hearts of the audience will be won over by Kvaterka and Membrán, bands already well-versed in the subject.

Kvaterka: Danube-style chanson rock, coffee-house new wave. Kvaterka blends a synthesis of numerous genres into a cohesive concept. Their lyric-driven music has been heavily influenced by the 1980s Budapest underground scene and the work of the songwriting trio Cseh, Másik and Bereményi.


Membrán: The band members had been circling each other for years - their paths often crossing - until finally, last year, with a drummer heading south and a lead guitarist returning home, we came together under the name ‘Membrán’ in the melting pot at 30 Cserzy Mihály Street.
They play primarily in an alternative rock style, blending modern and classic indie elements. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are just as influential to them as Quimby, and who doesn’t listen to the Arctic Monkeys?
