It’s been 15 years since the now cult classic DRIVE was first released. We’re celebrating this anniversary with a special commemorative evening at Dürer Kert.

We’re organising a free open-air screening and an authentic synthwave after-party in memory of Kavinsky, without whose ‘Nightcall’ neither the film nor synthwave would be the same.

What to expect: popcorn, drinks, retro TVs, an Out Run gaming corner, cool cars bathed in neon light, and an after-party lasting until dawn, where we’ll pay tribute to the past 15 years and the master’s body of work with strictly Kavinsky-inspired synthwave sets.

Quixotic, the best-known Hungarian pioneer of the new retrowave movement and producer/DJ for the Stranger Synths party series, is bringing us 1980s Miami once again this year - this is WAVES.
Joined by his fellow DJ/producer, an expert in synth music hits, they’ll be keeping the beats going until dawn.
Comfy shoes and an unbuttoned shirt are a must!

-Unloading: At the main entrance to Dürer Garden; pushchairs can be wheeled in (the path leading to sectors B and C is gravel)
-Public transport: A 5-minute walk from the Hengermalom út stop on bus routes 133E and 33; an 8-minute walk from the Hengermalom út / Szerémi út stop on tram route 1.
OPENING HOURS: 13.00–17.00
-Registration: From 12.00 at the main entrance
-Both sellers must register.
-You can collect your stall by showing your ID.
-Stalls must be reserved by 13.00.
-All tables are in a covered area
-Toilets and changing cubicles are available on site.

FOR SHOPPERS:
-Entry is free
-You can also bring clothes to donate; please leave these at the entrance at the end of the market. Thank you!
-If you’re taking clothes away to try on, make sure you note the seller’s table number.

Dávid Kara Somfai has accepted our latest invitation to the 7th instalment of Selva Talks, but this time we’re travelling to Siberia with him.

✨Between 1995 and 2009, Dávid Kara Somfai travelled among the small Turkic, Mongolian and Tungusic peoples of Southern Siberia, where the tradition of shamanism is still very much alive. Shamans are members of the community chosen by the spirits to act as their intermediaries in communicating with that community. Over the course of 15 years, the researcher visited the sites of Vilmos Diószegi’s (1923-1972) fieldwork (the Altai, Tuva and Khakassia Republics, and Mongolia), as well as the neighbouring Chinese region of Hölün-Buir. During his research, he lived alongside the local communities and took part in several spirit-summoning rituals. It also emerged that epic singers, who evoke the spirits of their ancestors through their tales, undergo an initiation similar to that of shamans.
