Deathcore and Symphonic Death Metal: Suicide Silence, Fleshgod Apocalypse, To The Grave and The Gloom In The Corner at Dürer Kert.
One of 2027’s most brutal and diverse concerts arrives at Dürer Kert on May 11: as part of the Cursed Since Birth European Tour 2027, American deathcore titans Suicide Silence, Italian symphonic death metal maestros Fleshgod Apocalypse, and two hard-hitting Australian bands, To The Grave and The Gloom In The Corner, will join forces in Budapest.
Riverside’s Suicide Silence are no strangers to Hungary. One of the biggest and most popular bands to emerge from the Southern Californian deathcore scene, they have become one of the genre’s most recognisable names. Their best-known track, “You Only Live Once,” has amassed 130 million views on YouTube and nearly 70 million streams on Spotify, while albums such as No Time To Bleed, The Black Crown and You Can’t Stop Me are widely considered classics of the genre.
Suicide Silence have experienced triumph, tragedy and numerous setbacks, but have always emerged from adversity stronger than before. Their greatest tragedy was undoubtedly the fatal motorcycle accident that claimed the life of their original vocalist, Mitch Lucker, in late 2012. For a time, it seemed that the band’s rapidly rising career might be cut short, but Suicide Silence ultimately rebuilt themselves with Hernan “Eddie” Hermida, frontman of All Shall Perish. Their success has continued ever since. Their latest album, Graceless, will be released on November 20 via Century Media. “The only objective was to live up to the band logo,” says guitarist Chris Garza. “Great things always happen when we approach things that way. We did everything just as we did when we were kids: we played heavy music from the heart.”
The tour’s special guest is Italian band Fleshgod Apocalypse, one of symphonic death metal’s most acclaimed acts. Francesco Paoli’s band delivers a distinctive blend of raw aggression, soaring orchestral arrangements and haunting melodies. Their epic brutality is matched by theatrical, visually impressive staging - no surprise, as their live performances draw on the traditions of Italian opera. Their most recent and sixth full-length album, Opera, recorded with the help of legendary producer Jacob Hansen, references this exceptionally rich heritage in its very title. The album holds particular significance in the band’s history, as it is their first release since chief songwriter Francesco Paoli’s near-fatal climbing accident in 2021. “It goes without saying that such a life-changing event affects our music as well. What happened took its toll on me both physically and mentally, and sharing that experience with others is also part of the healing process,” says the frontman.
The package is completed by two crushing Australian acts. Vegan deathcore outfit To The Grave is one of the southern continent’s most uncompromising bands: their 2019 debut, Global Warning, was an immediate success, as was 2021’s Epilogue. The band has amassed more than 20 million Spotify streams and has shared stages with Parkway Drive, Polaris, Cattle Decapitation and Thy Art Is Murder. Critics hail them as one of the genre’s most intense acts; as The Wall Of Sound put it, greatness is in their destiny. Their album released this year, Liberation Front, brilliantly lives up to that reputation.
Melbourne’s The Gloom In The Corner also operate in metalcore territory, but their heavy music freely blends different stylistic influences while placing strong emphasis on cohesive storytelling. Through their songs, they build their own apocalyptic story universe, adding another dimension to music packed with brain-melting breakdowns, dramatic vocal work and electronic touches. Their third full-length album, Royal Discordance, was released via SharpTone Records in early 2026.
May 11 promises to be a truly brutal night for deathcore fans. Tickets go on sale at 10:00 AM on November 6 via www.livenation.hu and www.funcode.hu.
We’ll be posting the evening’s timetable on the Facebook event page as the event approaches.
