"2 guitars, 1 bass guitar, 4 synthesisers, 1.5 drum kits and the sombre sounds of collective despair” - this is how Oaken introduce themselves on their Bandcamp page. The band, which will be 15 years old next year, blends metal, hardcore, post-rock and screamo, blending them with experimental instruments and techniques, as well as a good dose of noise, to create an unmistakable, brutal yet beautiful end result, which, live, naturally tears through anyone who stands in its way even more mercilessly.
It will be no different at their October gig in the small venue, where, amongst other things, the tracks from last year’s From the Bonfire will be given a new, more personal interpretation.
