This fall, Nazareth returns to Budapest.
The Bending the Rules tour marks one of the band’s greatest milestones — the 50th anniversary of their timeless hit Love Hurts, first performed by the Scottish rock legends in 1975. The band will take the stage at Dürer Kert on November 27.
Nazareth belongs to the first generation of hard rock and heavy metal bands, alongside Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and Deep Purple. Formed in 1968, the group still features founding member Pete Agnew, who continues to perform actively. Today, he is joined by his son Lee Agnew on drums, Jimmy Murrison on guitar, and Carl Sentance on vocals. With over 30 million albums sold, Nazareth remains one of Scotland’s most successful rock bands, alongside Simple Minds.
Love Hurts was first performed as a power ballad 50 years ago, becoming the most popular rendition of the song originally written by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant — and the only version to become a major hit in the United States. The recording topped the charts in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, and Norway, where it stayed on the charts for 61 weeks, including 14 weeks at number one, making it the most successful single of all time in that country. On Spotify alone, the track has been streamed over 247 million times, with plays still increasing by nearly a million each week.
The upcoming fall tour will celebrate this milestone, while also featuring other Nazareth classics such as Dream On, This Flight Tonight, and Hair of the Dog.

With sixteen studio albums, four EPs, and numerous compilations, reissues, and live recordings, Paradise Lost has become an essential figure in international extreme metal.
Having crossed their tenth anniversary, the Italian doom masters, Messa, take another step toward legendary status with their grand fourth album, The Spin. The album invites the listener on a breathtaking journey across the wide open skies of their creative imagination, through a beautiful landscape of moods, twists, and styles. Starting from the band's eclectic, self-defined style of Scarlet Doom, The Spin rises and falls, broods and bites, comforts and destroys – all while resonating with both instinctive, magical energy and obsessive, deliberate effort.
Their Latin name means "to shed tears" – and indeed, Lacrimas Profundere has been treading the path of dark, melancholic music for more than two decades. Originally a defining figure in the gothic death-doom scene, the band’s sound has evolved over time into a more refined, melodic gothic rock/metal direction, influenced by bands such as HIM and The 69 Eyes. After the carnivorous diseases and violent fires in Australia, Kim Dracula arrived to reflect the chaotic world around us with their turbulent and surprising art. In their song Make Me Famous, we can feast on a mixture of violence, chaos, and satire. The song is extreme and multifaceted, not only in its lyrics but also in its visuals. With this move, Kim Dracula has surpassed their previous musical works, as they combines a number of different musical styles in one song: metal, industrial, jazz, trap, and Latin music—and we are still talking about the same song—yet the experiment did not descend into chaos. Dracula's latest release, Drown, is a more melodic piece that carries the same eclectic power they famous for, this time combining styles such as post-hardcore, synthwave, industrial, EDM, and metal. Their musical compositions, extreme visual appearance, and refusal to fit into any specific category have earned Dracula a loyal fan base in a wide variety of communities, changing the future of music and blurring boundaries.

Next year marks thirty years since the term NWOAHM (New Wave of American Heavy Metal) became widely known and the bands associated with it began their international rise.

Next year marks thirty years since the term NWOAHM (New Wave of American Heavy Metal) became widely known and the bands associated with it began their international rise.
For years, the online media of the era handled this scene rather inconsistently, often blurring its boundaries with 1990s metalcore.

However, instead of drawing influence from Earth Crisis or Turmoil, these bands grew up on Testament and In Flames — and their legacy remains to this day.
Even though most of them are now simply regarded as “metal bands,” the influence of that era still resonates.

The third Small Hall Record Club will explore this phenomenon: the major labels’ signing frenzy, and the bands that defined the time — such as Burn the Priest, Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, Martyr AD, Chimaira, Dead To Fall, Diecast, and A Dozen Furies.
Remember NuSkull’s “Lost Records” series? This evening will feel similar — but in the form of an open conversation.

The Small Hall Record Club works much like a book club — except instead of books and authors, we talk about albums and bands in a relaxed, closed-circle setting.
The discussion will be led by Dávid Bali, author of the book and newsletter of the same name (kisterem.substack.com)

The event is free to attend, and you are encouraged to bring your opinions, questions, and thoughts — because there’s nothing better than talking about music.

A statisztikai célú sütik a felhasználó eszközein a Weboldalak böngészése során automatikusan elhelyezésre kerülnek. Azokat a böngésző beállításoknál utólag lehetséges törölni.

Ezeknek a sütiknek a célja, hogy a Weboldalakon az adott látogató számára releváns hirdetések jelenjenek meg. Ezen sütik elhelyezését a felhasználó eszközein az érintett felhasználó maga beállíthatja, illetve azok elhelyezését a felhasználó a böngészője megfelelő beállításával meg tudja megakadályozni, illetve azokat a böngésző beállításoknál utólag is lehet törölni.
