Nazareth Returns to Budapest This Fall!

This autumn, Nazareth will once again perform in Budapest. The Bending the Rules tour marks a special occasion — the 50th anniversary of the band’s biggest hit, Love Hurts, first performed by the Scottish rock legends in 1975. They’ll take the stage at Dürer Kert on November 27, following a performance by the German band Grey Attack.

Nazareth belongs to the first generation of hard rock and heavy metal bands, alongside Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and Deep Purple. Formed in 1968, the band still features founding member Pete Agnew, who continues to play actively. Today, he’s joined by his son Lee Agnew on drums, along with Jimmy Murrison on guitar and Carl Sentance on vocals. With over 30 million records sold, Nazareth remains one of Scotland’s most successful rock bands — alongside Simple Minds.

Love Hurts was released 50 years ago as a power ballad and became the most popular rendition of the song originally written by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant — and the only version to become a hit in the United States. The recording reached No. 1 in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, and Norway, where it stayed on the charts for 61 weeks, including 14 weeks at the top, making it the country’s most successful single of all time. On Spotify, the track has been streamed over 247 million times, with the number still growing by around a million plays every week.

While the tour celebrates Love Hurts, fans can also look forward to other classics such as Dream On, This Flight Tonight, and Hair of the Dog.

Nazareth will arrive in Europe directly from a Canadian tour that was announced as a farewell run. Supporting them on stage will be Grey Attack, a rock band from Aachen, Germany, formed in 2013. Their sound blends rock, hard rock, and post-grunge elements with a touch of metal, elevated by frontman Grey Charlez’s authentic and distinctive vocals.

After the carnivorous diseases and violent fires in Australia, Kim Dracula arrived to reflect the chaotic world around us with their turbulent and surprising art. In their song Make Me Famous, we can feast on a mixture of violence, chaos, and satire. The song is extreme and multifaceted, not only in its lyrics but also in its visuals. With this move, Kim Dracula has surpassed their previous musical works, as they combines a number of different musical styles in one song: metal, industrial, jazz, trap, and Latin music—and we are still talking about the same song—yet the experiment did not descend into chaos. Dracula's latest release, Drown, is a more melodic piece that carries the same eclectic power they famous for, this time combining styles such as post-hardcore, synthwave, industrial, EDM, and metal. Their musical compositions, extreme visual appearance, and refusal to fit into any specific category have earned Dracula a loyal fan base in a wide variety of communities, changing the future of music and blurring boundaries.

Formed in 2021 by Ádám Tarcsai (drums), Sándor Bikali (guitar), and Gábor Mátyás (vocals), Tre Lunatic blend metal and pop with heavy electronic grooves and cinematic atmospheres.

Hailing from Sopron, PLASTICOCEAN formed in 2017 and is known for their blend of modern metal and metalcore.
Since their debut, they’ve won several national talent contests and were the only metal band selected for the Hangfoglaló Program’s Emerging Artists initiative (2018/2019).
Their second album, Békétlen (2019), marked a shift from the English lyrics of their debut Wave (2017) to Hungarian, along with a bolder, heavier sound.
Their latest EP, Sodrás, introduces a more electronic direction — a fresh twist on their signature style.
PLASTICOCEAN has played at numerous Hungarian festivals and joined Leander Kills, Mudfield, and AWS on national tours, as well as performing at Useme’s farewell concert in Budapest’s Akvárium Klub.

Five friends. Fiercely loud music. Piercing vocals, ripping guitars, and thunderous drums—crafted for headbangers, jumpers, and even, occasionally, the melancholics. The completion of their 2018 album Poles Apart made one thing clear: the band was breaking away from their metalcore past. As a result, in 2025, Orion Dawn is back with a major strike.

Next year marks thirty years since the term NWOAHM (New Wave of American Heavy Metal) became widely known and the bands associated with it began their international rise.

Next year marks thirty years since the term NWOAHM (New Wave of American Heavy Metal) became widely known and the bands associated with it began their international rise.
For years, the online media of the era handled this scene rather inconsistently, often blurring its boundaries with 1990s metalcore.

However, instead of drawing influence from Earth Crisis or Turmoil, these bands grew up on Testament and In Flames — and their legacy remains to this day.
Even though most of them are now simply regarded as “metal bands,” the influence of that era still resonates.

The third Small Hall Record Club will explore this phenomenon: the major labels’ signing frenzy, and the bands that defined the time — such as Burn the Priest, Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, Martyr AD, Chimaira, Dead To Fall, Diecast, and A Dozen Furies.
Remember NuSkull’s “Lost Records” series? This evening will feel similar — but in the form of an open conversation.

The Small Hall Record Club works much like a book club — except instead of books and authors, we talk about albums and bands in a relaxed, closed-circle setting.
The discussion will be led by Dávid Bali, author of the book and newsletter of the same name (kisterem.substack.com)

The event is free to attend, and you are encouraged to bring your opinions, questions, and thoughts — because there’s nothing better than talking about music.

✧ No need to introduce Vágtázó Halottkémek to you, Zaj fans. One thing’s for sure: this ritual was long overdue. The band, celebrating 50 years this year, repeatedly captivates our hearts without ever repeating itself, constantly bringing something new at the intersection of hypnotic punk and cosmic shamanic sounds.


✧ Hardcore won’t be missing either! Leukémia is a cornerstone of the Hungarian hardcore underground: from the rowdy punk clubs of the ’80s and ’90s to their iconic albums, they’ve left their mark everywhere. Their instinctive punch and intense energy fit perfectly into the eclectic lineup of the evening.


✧ After a few years’ break, makrohang returned in 2023, adding color not only to the Hungarian but also the Central European music scene with their unpredictable music, flowing from quiet sentimentality to loud, crushing noise. By their own words, they play jazz for metalheads, so fair to say, we’re already sold.


✧ The uncompromising punkers from Zugló already shook up the Fekete Zaj crowd this summer, and they won’t hold back at Dürer Kert either. Since 2000, Böiler has been an essential name in Hungarian punk, and with their trademark energy and pounding sound, they’ll smash through the January blues.
