It all began in 2000 and it’s still going strong: in October, Psybaba Records will celebrate its 25th anniversary! A lot has happened over the years…

In short, it started with a record shop called Budapest for Trance, but there was already plenty of life before 2000 too: Kenguru parties at Fáklya, Dunavarsány, Kiscell crypt, and even a legendary Goa Gil gathering at Kopaszi Dam. Then came the name change — Psybaba Record Store — and the Forever Psychedelic parties on Daróczy Street, followed by events at Olof Palme House, Studio 4, NapHall, Kashmir, K2, Diesel Club, Láng Factory, Kincsem Park, R33… and the list goes on.

In 2006 came the CD compilation era, when Psybaba transformed into Psybaba Records. Four compilations were released in four years, featuring only Hungarian artists such as Venom Sense, Trippy Hippies, Irgum Burgum, Liquidspoon, Chemichalspoon, and Hauntedcastle. Already after the first release, the project took off: Psybaba parties popped up abroad, artists were booked worldwide, and the label became present at all the major festivals. On top of that, every year the 24-hour Goa Gil rituals were organized.

At one point the beloved record store closed, and party organizing became the main focus. For about 15 years now, Psybaba has been hosting monthly events at Dürer Kert, as well as the faster-paced nights at Ozora Festival. Slowly but surely, 2025 has arrived — and we can promise there’s plenty more still to come.

We’ll celebrate the 25th anniversary by going back to our roots, with long-time Hungarian artists who have always been part of the journey and supported us in every way. Of course, our parties always include international guests, and that won’t change, but this special lineup for the 25th Baba Bash has been on our minds for a long time, and it finally feels right.

As in previous years, the Psybaba Stage will take over the main hall, while the GoaHu crew will run the small stage — they’ve been with us at nearly all our birthday events. Psychedelic visuals will once again be provided by Public Beta Deco, who have been with us from the start.
